Cabin Fever

We are getting major cabin fever.  We just got another 8"-10" of snow yesterday.  The girls LOVE it, but its getting old.  We had 70 degree weather last Wednesday...they broke out the flip-flops!!  ...and now, back to the snow boots.  Here are a few pics from today.  Yes, I know...nothing green for St. Patty's Day.  They do however have shamrock jammies!

Yes...its been awhile

I am not sure why I have neglected this blog, but at any rate, I have.  I will start with the current.  We just celebrated Sara's 5th birthday.  It ended up being a month long celebration.  She had a combined party with Brooke and all her cousins the end of Jan. and then another with more family and friends the day of her birthday.  Whew..I am birthdayed out.  I am glad we have a few months until Payton is 8!

The girls have been out on the 4 wheeler in the little snow that we did have.Dsc_0093  Yes, I know Sara should have a helmet on.  We only have one helmet though!  It was supervised...she was fine!!   Payton was getting some air on some of the jumps she was making over the snow/ice pile.Dsc_0083   Here is the most recent one of the girls.  I am going to add the rest to the album.  Dsc_0125 That is Sara's cupcake cake that she chose for this year.  Probably the easiest cake that I ever made!

179 Days To Go!

The first day of second grade came and went without a hitch.  I even remembered lunch money this year!  She found her room, got her desk set up, ate lunch and made it back to daycare.  The weather was foggy and muggy this morning, so we had to settle for inside pics..plus, at 6:15 in the morning, its still pretty dark out.

Sara doesn't start Pre-K until Sept. 5, so I will be updating some "first day of Pre-K" pics at that time!

Ok, I have to say, I did not tell her to pose like that.  Turning 7, she is into this serious/no smile look.  I am thinking she is watching too much Raven!

*ETA*  Yes...the messenger bad could hold the entire classes folders...but that is what she HAD TO HAVE!  Its not really "that" big!

Preparation, Excitement, Anticipation...

Tomorrow starts second grade.  She has been NON STOP all day today.  "What time can I go to bed?"   "I wonder where my desk will be?"  "I wonder what is for lunch?"  bouncing off the walls with excitement. We even had to change her earrings to match her pink and white striped shirt she has had picked out since Friday night!  This girl loves school...I only hope she feels this way in 5 more years!  She said she was going to her room to get her backpack ready.  I snuck over to watch her...she was sharpening her pencils and putting her new erasers in the pouch.  She has the mini highlighters packed in the pencil box and her jewelry in the front pocket.  Her wallet with $10.00 was a bit much, so I removed the 10 $1 bills and replaced it with a check for lunch money.   At this point I don't know who is more excited...Payton to start tomorrow off or me to come home and dig into her backpack and hear all about her day!  I beam with pride and joy for her as we start off the new year!   Oh...in case you are wondering.. We removed the jewelry (anklet and necklace) and looked up the menu on the website!  Popcorn chicken, wheat roll, green beans, pears and milk!

Cheer Camp

Its over!  Sara LOVED it, and Payton...well...its over.  She did enjoy it, but when we were all there Thursday night to watch (moms and dads)  you could see the fear on her face.  She did it though.  Sara was hamin' it up though.  Oh boy...we will have trouble in the future!

They are proud of their shirts and wanted to "pose" for me before we left.  Here are some new ones.

Would you believe....

Its RAINING  AGAIN???  Just when I thought it was easing up...I just heard a rumble of thunder.   You know how hard it is to get 2 kids in the car at 6:30 in the morning and try not to get all soaked b/c you have your sheet like scrubs on for work?  NOT FUN nor EASY!  They see one drop of rain and want to take their umbrellas.  I think by the time they get them up, get in the car, put them down, they are more wet than if they just RAN!  Then we get to daycare and we have to put them up while trying to get out of the car, jump on the sidewalk (directly into the puddle) cry that our feet inside our sandals are wet (Sara) go to the door, try to put umbrella down..you get the picture.  Yep, that was my morning.  Then...to top it off...I arrive at work still soggy and the chillers in the ENTIRE hospital aren't working.  Its like 85 and humid.  Our paper was wilting.  I was actually worried that our scanners were going to shut off b/c of not getting the air circulation, but after about 1.5hrs they were back up.  At least I wasn't stuck in a stinky patient room!!  ;)

Lets just hope tomorrow its not raining!

WOOO...WOO...WOOOOOO

Yes...Cheer camp this week.  Sara is totally into it, Payton..well...she gets to take her water bottle.  They are at cheer camp from 5:30-8:30 until Thursday.  On the last day they put on a show for the parents.  Sara LOVES it!  Clappin' and Wooin' and doing her cheers.  Payton, well...got a $55.00 T-shirt to wear on Thursday and she wants to make it into a belly shirt.  UGH...  Sara tonight was getting ready for bed and was on her way downstairs to show us some "moves" and she said .."wait, I need to get my lips all glossy b/c I am a cheerleader now"  Oh boy!  I will have to get some shots of them in their cool pink tshirts.

Slip Slidin'

Last week the girls were at us to put up the slip and slide that we got.  So after dinner, being the nice daddy that they have, Jeff put it up for them.  They LOVE that thing!  Poor Sara, she kept sliding off the side and not making it down, but finally she got the hang of it!  Mom, remember when we would add more plastic at the end and make it even longer?  I loved playing in the wet, muddy sloppy grass that was at the bottom too!

This was also an opportunity for me to get to know my new camera that Jeff got me for my birthday.  Some are not technically correct, but most of you won't be looking at that!

No, I didn't teach my girls to "pose" like that.  They do that all on their own!  As soon as I get my camera out, that is the pose they strike.  Love it!

Hope we have some more hot and sunny days so they can get back out their.  As soon as I went in, Jeff decided to show Payton exactly how to "slide" and he took a shot at it!  She wanted to know how to slide into "first base" so he showed her!  Here is a shot of her practicing what she learned!  I will post the rest in the gallery.Dsc_0105 Dsc_0108 Dsc_0109

Our trip home

Rain, cold, rain, cold, little bit of clearing is what we mostly had.  We went to Greg's graduation party and the girls had such a good time playing with all the kids.  Sara just had to have grandpa take her for a ride on the motorcycle.  She loves it! She is going to be my Harley girl!  She could eat, sleep and play on that bike!  I was a bit worried she might even fall asleep on it.

Payton and Jeff had their first game of pool.  She did a good job and was proud of herself that she got the "8" ball in.  I can see her growing up and changing everyday.  She was very serious about the pool game.

I will add the rest of the pics in the album.
